Queen: MADE IN HEAVEN

We waited for quite a long time to see and hear the last ever recorded singing voice of Freddie Mercury, mixed with later recordings of other members of the group. I think it was worth the time.

However, the one to expect the power of previous releases would be disappointed. I believe that such taping would have never got out in the time of Freddies life. 'Too much love will kill you', for example, was even recorded by Brian May long before one could hear Freddie singing it. I am convinced that the reason for such action had been the powerless and low-in-frequencies Freddies voice one can detect on the track.

Knowing that everything was mixed after Freddies death makes it hard to listen to to the same few words over and over again. Especially if they are weaker than the ones we were used to listen to. I mean, such style was known to us before, but it sounded much better in those days. On the other hand, the album couldn't be better because of lack of recordings and the fact the singer was very ill during recording sessions.

So, all in all, I think one shouldn't be sulking over Freddies death, one should enjoy the ballads and rock-romances, supplied by last efforts of the deceased and hard work of Brian, Roger and John. It's also nice to hear both Brian and Roger singing on a Queen album again. They really did it well this time.

The only thing left to wander about is... will we ever see the singles, not published on any album (but The Completed Vision) compiled on a new CD...
